Can you imagine how completely satisfying it would be for someone that is wheel chair bound to be able to drive and float and swim underwater?
There’s just something about breathing air without a huge apparatus stuck in my face that makes me feel all nice and warm inside. Now you can feel all warm and yummy underwater!

From: Scuba Doo
Scuba-Dooing means you don’t need to wear a mask or mouthpiece. The air tank and diving weights are on the Scuba-Doo motorised scuba bike.
You are seated on your Scuba-Doo, with your head and shoulders in a clear dome. Your air is constantly being replenished from a scuba tank, enabling you to breathe normally!
The thing I really love about this is that you do not need to be a strong swimmer but mostly – even people with minor disabilites can do this. Can you imagine how completely satisfying it would be for someone that is wheel chair bound to be able to drive and float and swim underwater?
The Impact Lab did a great review on the Scuba Doo here. Not sure why the ScubaDooWorld site is down. Probably the best resource but I’ll leave the link in the event it goes back up.
Where can I get One?
You can contact Scuba Doo in Australia for details on purchasing one. There’s not a very good site that lists places you can rent/try one out. I’d have to assume major scuba markets offer it though.

How much does it cost?
It released in 2004 for a cool $17,000. So only for the super saturated rich (like me…one day).
There is an alternative though: Resorts around the globe offer sessions usually 60 – 90 minutes. $65 for 90 minutes is the average price I’ve seen.
So has anyone used one of these before?
We will adore hearing about your experience.

If you don’t – we know your IP and we know where you’ve been.
{not really – but it’s fun to sound bad ass every once in a while.}
A great resource I found on Youtube is scuba-doomauritius.com. It’s on the Mauritius Island. Anyone know where the hell that is? Anyway – here’s a good video they have on YouTube.
